My interest in photography started in the 1980s during my years of surfing.
This interest continued through to my time as chief crewman on the Lowe Walker Rescue Helicopter service in Hawkes Bay, where I took photos of accidents for local newspapers.
Having moved to the Matakana area I felt inspired to take my photography to another ‘level’! This area’s landscape provides inspiration for various photographic styles to keep my work interesting and myself interested.
I became friends with a local who has his own helicopter and this is when I started aerial photography.
My knowledge of aviation (including meteorology), sailing, diving and fishing combine to enable me to choose the best times to capture the perfect image.
